Ingredients

  • 120 g cooked brown rice β€” cooled
  • 200 g silken tofu β€” drained
  • 120 g ripe banana β€” sliced
  • 300 ml unsweetened soy milk β€” chilled
  • 4 g matcha powder
  • 20 g baby spinach β€” rinsed optional
  • 10 g chia seeds optional
  • 10 g maple syrup optional

Instructions

  1. Add the cooled cooked brown rice and silken tofu to a blender jar.
  2. Add the sliced banana, unsweetened soy milk, matcha powder, and baby spinach (if using).
  3. Blend on low, then increase to high for 45–60 seconds until completely smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides if needed.
  4. Add chia seeds and maple syrup (if using) and blend again for 10–15 seconds, just until evenly mixed.
  5. Taste and adjust thickness with a splash of extra soy milk if too thick, or add a few ice cubes and briefly blend if you prefer it colder.
  6. Pour into two small glasses and drink slowly, pausing if you feel full.

Tips for GLP-1 users

If your stomach is sensitive or you feel very fatigued, start with half a serving and sip it over 20–30 minutes so the combination of brown rice carbs, tofu protein, and matcha is easier to tolerate and less likely to cause heaviness on GLP-1 medication.

Use fully cooled brown rice; warm grains can make the smoothie taste stronger and feel heavier when your appetite is low.

If caffeine worsens your symptoms, reduce the matcha to half or skip it and keep the rest of the recipe the same for a gentler, still energy-supportive smoothie.
