Herbed Tuna Couscous Bloat-Ease Bites
These soft, savory tuna couscous bites are designed for GLP-1 users with bloating, using low-fat fish protein and tender couscous for easy digestion. Gentle Mediterranean herbs add flavor without strong garlic or onion, helping you get satisfying protein in a small, bloat-friendly snack.
Ingredients
- 120 ml water — hot
- 60 g couscous — dry
- 120 g canned tuna in water — drained and flaked
- 80 g firm tofu — crumbled finely
- 5 g olive oil — liquid
- 2 g dried italian herb blend — crushed between fingers
- 1 g salt — fine
- 0.5 g black pepper — ground optional
Instructions
- In a small heatproof bowl, pour the hot water over the dry couscous, cover with a plate, and let sit for 5 minutes until the liquid is absorbed and the grains are tender.
- Fluff the couscous gently with a fork to separate the grains, then let it cool for 3–4 minutes so it is warm but not hot.
- In a medium bowl, combine the flaked canned tuna, crumbled firm tofu, olive oil, dried Italian herb blend, salt, and black pepper if using.
- Add the warm couscous to the tuna-tofu mixture and mix thoroughly with a fork or clean hands until the mixture sticks together easily.
- With damp hands, form 8 small, compact bites or patties, pressing firmly so they hold their shape without needing to be fried.
- Serve the bites slightly warm or at room temperature, chewing slowly to support easier digestion and reduce bloating.
Tips for GLP-1 users
If your stomach feels very sensitive, eat 1–2 bites at a time and pause between bites—small, slow portions are easier on bloated, slower-moving GLP-1 stomachs.
