Warm Cinnamon Matcha Brown Rice Protein Bowl
This warm cinnamon-matcha brown rice protein bowl is designed for GLP-1 users who need gentle help with constipation, pairing soluble and insoluble fiber with plenty of fluid. Soft cooked brown rice, prunes, and chia support regularity while plant-based protein keeps the portion small but nutritionally dense and easy to digest.
Ingredients
- 200 g cooked brown rice โ soft-cooked and warm
- 300 ml unsweetened soy milk โ plain
- 40 g plant-based vanilla-free protein powder โ plain or neutral flavor
- 40 g pitted prunes โ finely chopped
- 10 g chia seeds โ whole
- 2 g ground cinnamon โ ground
- 1 g matcha powder โ sifted optional
- 10 g maple syrup โ liquid optional
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, whisk the soy milk, plant-based protein powder, ground cinnamon, and matcha powder (if using) until smooth with no lumps.
- Add the soft-cooked brown rice, chopped prunes, and chia seeds to the saucepan and stir to combine.
- Place the pan over low-medium heat and cook for 8โ10 minutes, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens slightly and the rice is very soft and creamy; avoid boiling hard to keep it gentle on the stomach.
- Taste and add maple syrup if you prefer a little sweetness, thinning with a splash of extra soy milk if it becomes too thick.
- Remove from heat, let sit for 2โ3 minutes to allow the chia to gel slightly, then divide into two small bowls and serve warm.
Tips for GLP-1 users
If your stomach is very sensitive on GLP-1 medication, start with half the chia and prunes the first time you try this bowl, and sip extra water or herbal tea alongside to help the fiber move through your gut.
